Our News Andy Peterson is making awesome progress in the Transcontinental Race Now on his 12th exhausting day on the road, Andy Peterson is making awesome progress in the epic Transcontinental Race: cycling 4,000 kilometres solo from France to Istanbul in just a fortnight. Andy is conquering extraordinarily long days, tricky navigation and massive climbs, as well as managing pain from a sore knee (exacerbated by gravel roads), in some of Europe’s most extreme heat. He has made it past three checkpoints and is now racing through Greece to reach the finish line within the required time this weekend. Thank you to everyone who has donated already, enabling Andy to reach over half of his £50,000 target. Your donations and messages are helping him to find more in his legs in this legendary ultra-endurance race, so if you can please head to his fundraising page for 40tude supporting the Tom Smith Research Fellowship at St. Mark’s Hospital, investigating the causes of hereditary colon cancer. Andy is putting himself through this “madness” to raise awareness of colon cancer in memory of his father and Tom Smith, both of whom sadly died from colon cancer. This type of cancer can be prevented through regular screening, so while you are sitting comfortably please do take a moment to find out about the screening options available to you: Getting screened for colon cancer Make a donation on Andy's page for 40tude Manage Cookie Preferences
