Who we are Why we exist Why we exist If you're a non-smoker in the UK, male or female, colon cancer is the most likely cancer to kill you. 1 in 17 men and 1 in 20 women are at risk of developing this type of cancer. There are almost 44,000 new cases of colon cancer each year in the UK (with around 1 in 120 people diagnosed each day), and over 16,800 deaths. This equates to an average of 46 lives lost every day. This needn’t be the case however: colon cancer is one of the easiest cancers to treat if it is detected early, through regular testing. There's a > 90% survival rate if it's diagnosed at Stage 1. 40tude champions the early detection of colon cancer. We do this in two ways: We promote awareness of the need to get tested regularly for colon cancer, ideally from the age of 45 We raise funds to support leading-edge research that is transforming the early diagnosis of colon cancer You can find out more about the impact 40tude is having in this short film 40tude curing colon cancer is a registered charity in the UK - Registered Charity Number 1160500.
