What's on Our Supporters' Challenges & Events Lucy has completed the Yorkshire Marathon! Congratulations to Lucy Morrison who has completed the Yorkshire Marathon - the first of two marathons she is undertaking in the name of 40tude! Lucy, the daughter of long-standing supporter and 40tude Trustee Steve Morrison, ran the Marathon in York on Sunday 20th October. She has a place also in the London Marathon in April 2025. "At the start of this year I decided to make this year mine!" explains Lucy. "That included solo travelling and hiking the Inca trail to see Machu Picchu, graduating university as a Veterinarian, starting a job and - last but not least - running a marathon! "40tude has always been a charity close to my family’s heart with my dad having done many of 40tude's cycle rides and their inaugural Mt. Toubkal challenge, as well as their Sahara trek together with my mum. He sadly cannot do these crazy adventures anymore due to his health so I thought I’d take on the mantle and run the marathon for 40tude!! "Training has been tough as I’ve been doing it all solo - blood, sweat and even tears were shed but I’m ready to put my all into these runs and spread the word of 40tude's mission." A big thank you Lucy for taking on these challenges for 40tude, helping to raise vital awareness of colon cancer as well as fundraising to support the work of 40tude. The funds that Lucy has raised will help pay for screening for younger people, in whom rates of colon cancer are increasing alarmingly.
